What can’t Kate Middleton do in heels?

The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 41, are visiting Wales today to celebrate its national holiday, Saint David’s Day, and the sporty mom of three showed off her competitive side as she beat her husband in a spin class race — despite her long skirt and heeled boots.

Sporting a black and white houndstooth Zara skirt and a simple white turtleneck, the princess hopped on a bike at the Aberavon Celtic Leisure Centre to compete in a friendly 45-second race against her husband and fellow spin class participants.

In a video shared on Twitter by Hello! magazine’s royal editor, Emily Nash, Middleton pedals away in her black suede Gianvito Rossi boots, with the front slit of her skirt allowing her to spin with glee.

Middleton seems to think Prince William — who points and makes an unintelligible remark about her heeled boots once they finish — is the victor, turning to him and clapping, then exclaiming with surprise as she’s announced as the winner of the race.

This isn’t the first time the royal has got sporty in heels; she’s played volleyball in sky-high wedges and skinny jeans and once took part in a field hockey game wearing an Alexander McQueen coat and heeled boots.

Before her big competition, Middleton covered up with an ivory coat by Alexander McQueen, pinning a yellow daffodil on her lapel to represent Saint David’s Day.

She wore the outwear open to show off the print of her Zara skirt, which cost only $24 at the time it was sold by the retailer.

Middleton accessorized with a pair of faux pearl and crystal earrings ($112) from Heavenly London, black gloves and one of her favorite Mulberry “Amberley” crossbody bags in a black croc print.

This was the second time in the past week the princess has sported houndstooth, wearing a red-and-white coat in the geometric print to a rugby match on Saturday — and channeling Princess Diana in the process.

With spring on the horizon, perhaps the princess will take on another sporty pursuit in sassy shoes.
