Kate Moss recreates her 90s two-tone pink hair – and fans have questions

If you think about some of Kate Moss’ most iconic beauty looks, you might think of a classic red lip and defined cheekbone combination. Those who remember the star in her early modelling years might even conjure up an image of Kate with pink hair.

The model, now 48, switched up her look back in 1999 when she walked the runway for the Versace spring/summer show – and now she’s recreating that exact pink hair for a Marc Jacobs campaign.

Posing for snaps with fuchsia tresses, Kate looks nothing short of incredible. She’s even fully committed to the 90s feel of the shoot with skinny brows and a barely-there base. In fact, Kate looks so much like she did in the 90s (when she was 25) that some of her fans are wondering if this is, in fact, a snap of her from two decades ago.

“What year was this?” asks one Marc Jacobs Instagram follower, while a second says: “Kate Moss looks like she’s 23 in this.”

A third writes: “Iconic pink hair Kate is back.”

“Looks great, It’s giving me the current incarnation of Madonna,” adds a third.

We imagine the styling brief for this shoot was more 90s Kate rather than 2022 Madonna, but the follower is right in pointing out that the model is sporting the same pink colour that Madonna currently is.

The singer showed off her freshly-coloured bubblegum pink hair back in August of this year. Since she celebrated her 64th birthday that month, we wondered whether she’d given herself a bit of a makeover in celebration of it. We also thought it looked like she dyed her natural hair, and not turned to a wig – and that turned out to be correct as Madonna still wearing the colour today.

You might also have spotted Kate’s hair (and Madonna’s hair, for that matter) isn’t just a single tone of pink. The roots are a lighter pastel while her ends are more of a vivid fuchsia.Pinterestis calling this particular colour “Gemini Hair”. Gen-Zers and Millennials will mix natural hues with bright purples, blues, and pinks in 2023, reports the site.

As Kate proves, you don’t just have to be in your twenties to rock a bold hair colour.
