Kate, Princess of Wales, have given fans a glimpse of her favourite things to do over the years as she has spoken with members of the public during visits to different parts of the country. Once, she revealed a hobby she enjoys doing in her spare time, but, surprsingly, she said she isn’t very good at it.

Kate shared that she had been trying to get into knitting in her spare time, but she admitted the craft is harder than it looks.

Back in 2020, during a visit to Glasgow, Kate revealed she had been attempting to knit a jumper for one of her children.

Although she seemed to be enjoying the hobby, the then Duchess of Cambridge confessed it was a difficult task.

She said at the time: “I’ve been trying to knit and I’m really bad. I should be asking for tips.”

The mother-of-three went on to explain she had been trying to knit a garment for Prince George.

Speaking to a group of women who were showing off their crocheting skills in Glasgow, Kate said: “I tried knitting when I first had George.

“I tried to knit him a very special jumper, but I got halfway down and it splattered. It’s such an amazing skill.”

It appears that Kate has other hobbies too, such as gardening.

The Princess of Wales seems to have a passion for the pasttime, having designed a garden for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show back in 2019.

She also enjoys cooking, having revealed details of her family’s eating habits over the years.

In 2010, royal writer Katie Nicholl unveiled that Kate likes to cook her husband’s favourite meal, which is thought to be chicken.

She said: “In the evenings, she [Kate] indulges her hobby of cooking William’s favourite supper, roast chicken.

“That’s their idea of the perfect night.”

During a visit to Lavender Primary School in Enfield in 2019, Kate mentioned cooking cheesy pasta with her children, according to People.com.

Teacher Matthew Kleiner-Mann told the news website: “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her.

“They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”

It is likely that Kate is also a fan of sports, and has been since she was young.

At university in St Andrews, Kate took part in rowing, tennis, and skiing. She was also pictured on skiing holidays with Prince William and Prince Harry during the early years of her and William’s relationship.

Now, the Princess of Wales is said to enjoy running and CrossFit, which is a high-intensity exercise that combines elements like gymnastics, kettlebell and weightlifting. Kate is reportedly a “huge fan”

A spokesperson from BarBend previously told Express.co.uk: “CrossFit is one of the most effective workouts for building muscle, burning fat, and toning your body, so it’s no surprise to see that Kate Middleton is a huge fan.

“The workouts can be challenging, combining weightlifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning, however, the focus is on hitting your next fitness or strength goal, rather than the number on the scales, which helps people forget about their weight and become more confident.”

They added: “With such a high-pressured role in the Royal Family, the Duchess of Cambridge is reaping huge benefits from this exercise.”
