Just last month, the model, 30, was seen getting on an airplane with messy hair, pale skin, and dark rings around her sunken eyes – leaving her fans, friends, and family worried – but now, she stepped on the red carpet at MIPCOM 2022 looking as happy and healthy as could be.

It turns out, this isn’t the first time the star has transformed for the cameras – in fact, on numerous occasions in recent months, she’s been spotted looking messy and unkempt one day, but completely put together the next.

Back in March, Cara was seen looking tousled at the BILT Rewards launch event in New York City; she wore minimal makeup for the outing – which left her face appearing blotchy and pale – and her hair looked greasy and messy.

She partied it up at the event, which was held inside the One Vanderbilt skyscraper in New York City, alongside NYC Mayor Eric Adams and rapper A$AP rocky.

But weeks later, on May 24, she looked pictured perfect on the red carpet at the amfAR Gala in Cannes – donning a plunging V-neck black gown, a sparkling pearl necklace, and platform heels.

She kept her long, blonde hair in a tight bun and rocked bright red lipstick and a smoky eye at the event – certainly a very different look from her wild night out in New York.

On June 7, a makeup-less Cara was seen looking tired and sullen outside of her hotel in Portofino, Italy, after jetting off to the beach town with her rumored girlfriend Minke.

Weeks later, on June 22, she underwent a complete transformation when she attended an Only Murders In The Building screening with a full face of glam.

Cara was also seen looking scruffy while out and about in Los Angeles on July 24. She did some shopping in a pair of baggy, blue shorts and a white tank top – but she had a contrasting look when she visited the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon three days later in a dazzling khaki jumpsuit.

Cara grew up in the Belgravia area of London, England. Her father, Charles, worked as a property developer, while her mother, Pandora, was a stylist and personal shopper, and the daughter of Janie Sheffield – who served as the lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II’s sister Princess Margaret.

And while on the outside, Pandora came off as a put together British socialite, she secretly battled a heroin addiction and was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which resulted in Cara having a difficult childhood.

She previously revealed that she developed severe anxiety and depression at age 15, which resulted in her participating in self harm.

‘All of a sudden I was hit with a massive wave of depression and anxiety and self-hatred, where the feelings were so painful that I would slam my head against a tree to try to knock myself out,’ she said to Vogue.

‘I never cut [myself], but I’d scratch myself to the point of bleeding. I just wanted to dematerialize and have someone sweep me away.’

In her later teen years, Cara was put on what Vogue described as a ‘cocktail of psychotropics’ and she began smoking pot, but she stated that she was ‘completely mental with or without drugs.’

‘I couldn’t wake up in the morning,’ she admitted. ‘The worst thing was that I knew I was a lucky girl, and the fact that you would rather be dead… You just feel so guilty for those feelings It’s this vicious circle. Like, how dare I feel that way? So you just attack yourself some more.’

Cara eventually dropped out of school, but was determined to prove that she ‘wasn’t a deadbeat’ despite fears that she would ‘never amount to anything.’

She originally wanted to be an actress, but after struggling to land roles, she turned to modeling. She was signed by Storm Management in 2009, when she was 17, but didn’t get her first paying job until nearly two years later.

She was eventually scouted by Burberry designer Christopher Bailey in 2011, while she was working part time in the office of a fashion website, who asked her to model for one of the brand’s campaigns.

During the height of her fame, Cara admitted that she still struggled with mental illness, telling Vogue that her depression would come and go.

‘It’s like, if anything is good for too long, I prefer to ruin it,’ she said. ‘I had to be doing things with people at all times. The life of the party is an easy part for me to play. It rots your insides, though.’

While rumors circulated on more than one occasion that she was doing drugs – photographers caught her holding a small zip lock bag of a mysterious white substance in 2013 – she insisted that it never got out of control for her.

‘Honestly, I don’t think I did anything different from other people my age,’ she said. ‘But I definitely have that addict gene.

Then, on September 6, she left her fans, friends, and family members worried when she was photographed arriving at the private airport in Van Nuys, California, and appeared unable to control her body movements – dropping her phone multiple times as she boarded the aircraft.

Following her erratic behavior on the tarmac, Cara, who donned nothing on her feet except a pair of dirty socks, sat on the plane for 45 minutes before she ultimately disembarked and got back into her awaiting car.

After that, reports have emerged that claimed her family was considering an intervention for the troubled star.

‘We are all incredibly concerned. The situation has been building for a few weeks now, and Cara’s family is involved,’ a close friend told The Sun afterwards.

‘There is talk of staging some kind of intervention and making sure Cara gets the help she may well need. She has been burning the candle at both ends of late, and it’s clearly taking its toll.’

Now, however, it appears that she’s back on track, as she was seen at a Fremantle Photocall as part of MIPCOM 2022 on Monday, looking as glamorous and fierce as ever in a revealing, black minidress.
