Love Island 2023 couples who have split as Samie and Tom break silence after ‘breakup’

The latest season of Winter Love Island was a whirlwind of romance, with some couples capturing our hearts while others fizzled out quickly. Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan stole the show, being crowned king and queen of the villa and taking home the coveted £50K cash prize.

However, despite the show's romantic premise, success stories once leaving the villa are sadly few and far between, as couples who find love on the ITV program often struggle to go the distance.

Many viewers at home question the authenticity of the connections formed on the show and speculate how long it will take for the first split of the series – not long, it turns out.

Samie Elishi and Tom Clare

The first of the final four couples, Love Island's Samie Elishi and Tom Clare have reportedly called it quits just a month after finishing third in the show. Despite making their relationship official outside the villa and becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, it seems that Samie and Tom struggled to make things work due to the challenges of distance and their hectic work schedules.

An insider revealed, "Samie and Tom have sadly decided to call it a day. There is a lot of love and respect there but it just wasn't going anywhere."

They told The Sun, “The distance between them was too much and they are both really focused on their careers post Love Island.”

Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda

Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda's Love Island journey took an unexpected turn when Olivia decided to bring Maxwell back from Casa Amor, despite her previous coupling with Kai. However, despite denying breakup rumors for weeks, a representative for Olivia confirmed their split in early April.

According to the statement given to Goss.ie, it seems that the post-villa life took its toll on the couple, as it read: "Things weren’t the same between Olivia and Maxwell after they left the villa. Life has been hectic and they both decided it was best to end things.

“Olivia is happy to focus on herself right now and has a lot of exciting work projects coming up, including a role in the next Fast & Furious movie. It’s sad it didn’t work out but there’s no hard feelings between them.”

Since the split, both Olivia and Maxwell have deleted all traces of each other from their Instagram feeds, and Olivia has unfollowed Maxwell.

Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown and Jordan Odofin

An unexpected plot twist of the season on Love Island saw bombshells Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown and Jordan Odofin, who entered the villa at different times, hit it off.

Although Zara had already left the villa by the time Jordan arrived, fate brought them together outside the show, and they began dating. However, just a week after the series ended, Zara and Jordan announced that they had decided to part ways, becoming the second couple from this year's series to end their romance.

In joint statements shared on their Instagram Stories, they expressed their gratitude for the public's support and addressed their relationship status: "After a few dates since leaving the villa, we know that we definitely get along and enjoy each other's company. It's been 2 and a half weeks of getting to know each other, and for now, it's a fun friendship between us. We have a lot of respect for each other, and that's what matters."

Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabrook

Love Island's Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabrook were one of the couples that had viewers rooting for them, but it looks like their romance didn't make it out of the villa. The pair seemed to hit it off on the show, with Casey choosing Rosie as his new partner after previously being with Claudia Fogarty, but things didn't work out once they returned to the real world.

Just two weeks after the finale, Casey confirmed the news that they had broken up, becoming the first couple from Winter Love Island 2023 to call it quits. Responding to a fan's question on Instagram, the 24-year-old said: "Rosie and I have spoken… she's a great girl. Life outside the villa is just very different and we will remain friends moving forward."
