Love Island winner reveals she was so bored on show she made ASOS orders

Former Love Island star Jessica Hayes has opened up on what it's like to be in the famous villa and how she stayed busy while on the ITV2 dating show.

Jess, 29, was crowned the winner of the first series of Love Island with Max Morley in 2016. The pair took home the £50,000 prize fund but split shortly after the show finished.

She has since revealed all about her time on the hit TV show, explaining how she and her fellow Islanders were "so bored" in the villa, and how they managed when they began to run out of clothes towards the end of series.

"When we were in there, we were so bored," she said. "Obviously smoking was allowed back then and we would literally rinse through."

Speaking to Spin Genie, Jess went on to reveal that towards the end she and her co-stars were "struggling for clothes" and were even allowed to order some online.

"Then we were struggling for clothes towards the end, so we were able to put in a little ASOS order online and get clothes. I know they get so much stuff now, but we didn’t get any of that. We were clutching at straws, like borrowing each other's bikinis," the 29 year old explained.

The Islanders now receive clothes while in the villa, with the show previously being sponsored by brands such as Missguided and I Saw It First.

Jess previously revealed she'd do things slightly differently if she appeared on Love Island again, and revealed she'd choose to 'steal' the prize fund rather than split it with Max.

Speaking on Love Island: Aftersun in 2022, Jess said: "Do you know what, it was such a journey for me and I think I was hated at the beginning you know. I loved it so much, it was hard.

"I think the only thing I would do differently is I would have taken all the money. 100% I should have taken all that money."

Love Island bosses scrapped the 'Split or Steal' twist in 2022 in a bid to switch up the show's format, with the winning couple automatically splitting the £50,000 prize fund and receiving £25,000 each.
