Love Islands Lana Jenkins shares 5-minute messy bun hack behind her villa updo

During her time on this year’s winter Love Island, Lana Jenkins coupled up with fellow contestant Ron Hall and was crowned runner-up in the series after winning over viewers with her hopeless romantic outlook. However, it wasn’t just her personality that viewers were fans of; she received plenty of praise for her fashion and beauty choices, including her perfect messy bun that she was often spotted wearing around the villa.

The look was the perfect combination of effortless and chic, with Lana wearing it both poolside and glammed up in the evenings in equal measure. Although it looks like she just throws her hair up in a bobble and calls it a day, it turns out there’s an actual process behind nailing the perfect messy bun – and it only takes five minutes.

In avideo shared to her TikTokon Tuesday, Lana showed exactly how she nails the messy bun look in just a few quick easy steps. Captioning the post “As you requested… my messy bun look from the villa!! This look is so quick and easy, let me know what you think!”, Lana started the video by explaining she first pull out her front sections, which will be curled.

Next, she takes the remaining hair and ties it into a ponytail at the top of her head, explaining “it doesn’t have to be neat or anything special” as she fastens it. Next up is curling; taking a curling wand, Lana curls the front sections of her hair, taking small sections and curling away from her face, before taking her wand to the rest of her hair.

After curling random sections of her ponytail until her entire hair has been turned into loose curls, she then sprays her hair with texture spray to help give it some grip and stop it looking too sleek and perfect. Rather than using another hair bobble, Lana takes some bobby pins and uses them to secure sections of her hair.

The Love Islander explains: “I always think it looks better when there’s little bits coming out”, as she pins individual sections in place whilst leaving the bottom of her hair fanning out from the bun. After quickly re-curling some of the bottom sections, Lana shows off the finished look, with fans rushing to the comment to say how much they love it, as well as asking for more videos with Ron, such as doing each other’s makeup, saying they missed seeing the two of them on their screens.

Maybe we’ll get a Lana and Ron makeup tutorial soon!
