A man has suffered a ‘hilarious’ fake tan fail while on holiday in Benidorm with people ‘crying’ at the result.

Darren, from Middlesbrough, attempted to give his skin a light glow ahead of going on a date but accidentally fell asleep after applying the lotion.

The panicked 48-year-old tried to wash his face but was unable to remove it, leaving his skin a bizarre shade of ‘orange’.

Darren and friend Graham share their holiday antics regularly online (@dazza_bigdogbenidorm), having previously gone viral for saying it’s ‘cheaper’ to head to Benidorm than stay at home in the UK.

In one of the clips, which have racked more than 868,000 views on TikTok, Darren is sitting on his balcony while applying the tan to his face.

He got the idea after spotting his neighbours tanning their legs before a big night out and got intrigued.

After speaking to them, he decided to get in on the action. In the next video, pal Graham reveals Darren has fallen asleep and a third clip shows the newly-awoken Brit on his bed, laughing.

His date reportedly ‘blocked’ him after he told her what happened.

‘I couldn’t believe the colour I went, I tried to wash it off but I had no joy at all,’ he said.

‘I asked the women next door how could I wash it off and they said it would come off after in the shower but it didn’t.

Others said the pair are a ‘liability’ and left them ‘crying’. One user said: ‘You two are a liability, I’d love a holiday with yas.’ [sic]
