MANCHESTER CITY are now just five wins from another Premier League title. Can West Ham do anything to stop their charge towards glory?

Manchester City vs West Ham betting preview

With 13 wins from their last 14 matches, it looks like it is going to take something special to stop Manchester City from winning the Treble.

Real Madrid are perhaps the biggest obstacle in their path and with the first leg of the sides’ Champions League final scheduled for next Tuesday, perhaps that will affect Pep Guardiola’s team selection here.

There’s also a home weekend clash with Leeds to think about – City are playing twice a week, every week, throughout May – so fatigue is arguably their biggest opponent right now.

While things were a little tight against Fulham on Sunday, City at home are a frightening prospect – they’ve won 14 of 16 here and smashed in 54 goals on their own patch.

Of course, Erling Haaland has plenty of those – one more here will set a new record for Premier League goals in a season (35) – but Julian Alvarez again highlighted his qualities at the weekend to show that even if the Norwegian is rested, City carry serious goal threat in forward areas.

Kevin de Bruyne missed the Fulham game and is again a doubt for this one, along with defender Nathan Ake.

West Ham are winless against the top six this season (three draws, seven losses) and David Moyes are rarely been one to have a go at the better teams.

He’d doubtless be delighted with a point – the Hammers come into this one only four points outside the drop zone – and defensive tactics look assured.

But inviting City on is a dangerous game to play and if the hosts get ahead early – as they usually do – then a routine home win looks likely.

Manchester City vs West Ham best bets

Man City over 2.5 goals

City have scored a league-high 54 home goals en route to winning 14 of their 16 games at the Etihad.

Their current form suggests they aren’t about to stop scoring, either.

Notably, they’ve scored 3+ in all their home matches against teams currently in the bottom half, with the exception of a 1-1 draw with Everton.

West Ham will be on the back foot here and could well go the way of the rest.

Jarrod Bowen & Lucas Paqueta 1+ shot each

Paqueta has played a more attacking role of late and that has resulted in him having a shot in his last nine starts.

Bowen’s figures are arguably better with him landing the 1+ shot bet in 14 of his last 15 starts.

Of course, City’s defence gives up fewer chances than all the other clubs but old habits die hard and these two will be looking to get shots away when they can.

Around even money for the shot double looks worth a try.

Vladimir Coufal to be carded

For a bigger price, a card for West Ham right-back Coufal looks value added.

He’s been booked in five of his last 15 starts for the Hammers and has potentially tough day in store at the Etihad.

Jack Grealish is in good form on the City left and is the second-most fouled player in the Premier League.

Given City’s packed schedule, we can’t be sure Grealish will start but even if he doesn’t likely replacement Phil Foden is no easy customer to deal with.

Ref John Brooks is one of the top carders in the league, too.
