Tom Cruise’s acting skills don’t take Mickey Rourke’s breath away.

The “Sin City” actor called the “Top Gun: Maverick” star “irrelevant” in a new interview.

“The guy’s been doing the same effing part for 35 years… I got no respect for that,” Rourke, 69, said on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” when he was asked about Cruise, 60, reviving his role from the original 1986 “Top Gun” film on Monday.

Rourke also noted that he wasn’t impressed that “Maverick” was Cruise’s first film to rake in more than $1 billion at the box office.

“I don’t care about money and power,” Rourke said, arguing that Cruise’s acting skills don’t match up to other big names in Hollywood.

“I care about, when I watch Al Pacino work and [Christopher] Walken and [Robert] De Niro’s early work and Richard Harris’ work and Ray Winstone’s work, that’s the kind of actor I want to be like. [Montgomery] Clift and [Marlon] Brando back in the day.”

When Morgan, 57, further pressed Rourke on whether he thinks Cruise is a good actor, the “Angel Heart” star didn’t hold back.

“I think he’s irrelevant, in my world,” Rourke replied.

“Top Gun: Maverick,” a sequel to the 1986 cult classic, made headlines after pulling in more than $100 million during its first three days in North American theaters. Including international showings, the movie’s worldwide total reached $248 million.

Deadline reported that by the end of June, “Maverick” pulled in more than $1 billion at the box office globally.

And due to the film’s major success, Cruise’s co-star Miles Teller revealed that a “Top Gun 3” could be in the works.

“I’ve been having some conversations with him [Cruise] about it. We’ll see,” Teller told Entertainment Tonight last week.
