The former England rugby star Mike Tindall shared his wife’s private nickname on the Rugby Joe podcast. Couples always have adorable nicknames for their other half, and the Royal Family is no different.

Zara Tindall and her husband Mike have been married since 2011 and it’s been revealed that the rugby star has a special name for his wife.

The former England rugby star was interviewed in 2019 on the Rugby Joe podcast, with podcast host Alex Payne first asking him if “he would rather marry a royal or win the World Cup”.

Mike jokingly replied: “Well I’ve done both technically.” He then continued: “Well hang on, will it be my wife that I’m marrying?”

Alex cleared up the question, saying: “Yeah would you rather marry Zoey or win the World Cup?”

Mike then responded: “Could we take Zoey out of it? Cause obviously if it’s my wife I would marry my wife.” This was the first time that Mike has addressed his wife as “Zoey” rather than Zara.

His reply was met with plenty of “Aw” comments from the panel. Zara Tindall’s nickname isn’t the only royal pet name that’s been shared. Kate Middleton has an adorable nickname for her father-in-law King Charles III.

King Charles and his daughter-in-law were seen chatting last November when they visited the Eden Project in Cornwall and their conversation gave a rare insight into their relationship.

A lip reader claims that Kate greeted King Charles with the words: “Hello Grandpa, how are you?” This touching name provides an insight into their rare bond and what Charles is known as to his closest family members.

Prince William had the adorable childhood nickname “Wombat,” which was given to him by his late mother, Princess Diana. 

In a 2007 interview with NBC, William admitted the name has stuck with him. “I can’t get rid of it now,” he said. “It began when I was two.

“I’ve been rightfully told because I can’t remember back that far, but when we went to Australia with our parents, and the wombat, you know, that’s the local animal, so I just basically got called that, not because I look like a wombat, or maybe I do.”

There is also the nickname “Babe” which is used by this couple. While attending the Chelsea Flower Show together in 2016, Kate was overheard telling her husband, “Babe, we’ve got those. We’ve got loads of those,” while perusing the array of plants.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for a Hamilton charity performance at London’s Victoria Palace Theater in 2018 and stole the show when the Duchess of Sussex accidentally revealed her heartwarming nickname for her now-husband.

While the royal couple gathered for a group photo with the cast and crew, the Duchess turned to her husband and asked, “My love, can you see?”

While speaking to interviewer Tom Bradby for their documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Meghan stated, “I’ve said for a long time to H. That’s what I call him.”

Harry’s friends, on the other hand, call him “Spike,” which he also used as an online pseudonym for years.

Prince Harry has a very casual nickname for his sister-in-law that he uses on a variety of occasions, according to an interview Kate did in 2017 with BBC Radio 1.

The Duke of Sussex referred to Kate as “Cath”, which is actually short for Catherine, Kate’s full name.

Harry, of course, also has a nickname for his wife Meghan Markle. He let it slip at the 2018 Invictus Games reception in Sydney, Australia.

He could be overheard calling out the name “Meg” when trying to get his wife’s attention. The Duchess revealed many years ago in an interview with Craig Ferguson that all her friends either call her “Meg” or “Nutmeg”.
