Model wants to represent normal women by showcasing natural curves
Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Natalie Mariduena, says she wants to represent “normal bodies”.
The star says she wants to raise awareness to “body normalcy” by representing body types that are neither skinny nor plus-sized.
Natalie, who is based in Chicago, told Fox News: “In the industry, you see models who are very thin or your see plus-size models, but there isn’t this genre of modelling that’s right in the middle.

“I try to champion that for other people. I want to be an example of that and show that it’s cool and it’s beautiful.”
The 25-year-old has more than eight million followers on social media, including 3.5 million on Instagram alone.
She frequently shares unedited and unfiltered images of her body and everyday life.
“I show my body, I show my life, I show what I represent and what I value with no filter,” she added.
“Whether it’s a bikini image or just an image of me out in the street in a cute outfit, I want to show that the normal body size is valued.
“I have so many followers who are young women, very impressionable and looking at me as an example for themselves.
“I’m often told, ‘I have your body type — thank you for showing this.’ These people are showing their appreciation towards me and I want to give that love back.
"Because I have this platform, I think it’s more important than ever that I provide positivity for women.”
The influencer praised Sports Illustrated Swimsuit for celebrating different body types, as well as women of various ages in their 2022 issue.
Natalie also appeared in the 2021 issue, which was reportedly her first Sports Illustrated splash.
“It’s the best feeling in the world as a model to be part of a magazine that accepts and celebrates you for being you,” she said.
