‘My boss sent me home because "inappropriate" outfit showed my belly button’

A woman claims she was sent home from work after turning up in a 'revealing' outfit that her boss claims was 'inappropriate' for work.
Marie Dee, who posts online as @notmariedee, is known for making videos testing her manager's patience with her outfits or trying it on with her co-workers.
In her latest video, she was seen donning a pair of black leggings with a grey long-sleeved crop top that showed off her belly button piercing as she mocked her boss for complaining about it.

The stunning blonde gained more than 1,300 likes as she wrote: "When I get sent home from work because my outfit is 'too revealing.'"
She then lipsynced to a viral TikTok sound that said: "Stupid, that's a belly button."
In the caption, she asked: "Can I live?"
TikTok viewers took to the comments divided over the clip as some believe she should be able to wear what she wants and others advised her to stick to the dress code.
One user wrote: "If you work for me I would have sent you home because your outfit wasn't revealing enough."
Another argued: "This is obviously a violation….. no one really wants to see this in a professional environment no matter what the excuse."
A third commented: "The top is covered and revealing at the same time."
However, a fourth said: "Belly button is not professional."
Others warned her that the outfit was more "social attire than work attire" adding that they "don't feel like it's appropriate for the workplace."

The news comes after she made a video in smart attire but claims she was sent still home because of what she was wearing and asked if she should quit her job in response.
The exact issue with her outfit was unspecified, however, it was most likely that her V-neck was low enough to show some of her considerable cleavage, which became more visible when she bent down in front of the camera.
But while some people said her outfit might have "distracted" them', others were quick to tell her she looked "great and professional" in the V-neck lilac top and black trousers.
