New Good Morning Britain presenter Gordon Smart’s cheeky advice for Joe Swash as Stacey Solomon announces pregnancy | The Sun

NEW Good Morning Britain presenter Gordon Smart has issued some cheeky advice for Joe Swash.

A major presenter shake-up saw Radio X broadcaster and former Scottish Sun editor Gordon, 42, join the panel today – and he's already had viewers laughing.

The TV star was sat alongside show stalwart Charlotte Hawkins for Thursday's instalment of the daily programme.

While Ben Shepherd normally takes the reins, a major line-up change saw Gordon take over, for both Thursday and Friday.

Just minutes into his new role, Gordon has his co-stars and viewers at home laughing as he dished out some advice.

He made a cheeky jibe at Joe, 40, whose wife Stacey Solomon announced she was expecting her fifth child this week.

Leaving Charlotte, 47, giggling, Gordon joked that he had a "number for a good surgeon" ahead of Joe's third child's birth.

As a clip played announcing the pregnancy, Gordon appeared to be hinting towards Joe getting a vasectomy.

"Time for him to hang up his boots," he went on to joke.

Leaving his co-stars giggling and open-mouthed with the cheeky jibe, he apologised for the remark between laughs.

"From all of us here at GMB, we send them both our very best wishes, congratulations!" entertainment reporter Scarlette Douglas says as the news bulletin went on.

It comes after Good Morning Britain fans were all left saying the same thing after Gordon was seen on screen today.

After announcing the news this week, the TV star said he was "thrilled to be joining" the team, and "relishing" in the role.

And it appeared fans of Good Morning Britain agree, as this morning they flooded social media in support of Gordon.

Many took to Twitter to welcome the new host, and call for him to become a "permanent presenter" on the programme.

"Good hunky looks aside, he's definitely doing a good job," one fan penned. "Let's make him a permanent presenter."

"Great to see Gordon on today, a breath of fresh air and I hope he can stay," a second chimed in to agree.

"Gordon is a great new addition! Love to see more of him," a third added, while another viewer said: "Really liked him, he should be on more often."

It comes after it was revealed this week there would be a major presenter shake-up, as Ben was replaced by Gordon.

Gordon said of his new role: "I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing stable of talent, in front and behind the camera, on Good Morning Britain.

"So many of the issues facing the country right now are close to home and I’m relishing the chance to join the debate.”

Regular presenters Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley, Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard and Martin Lewis will all return in the New Year.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
