An NHS doctor slammed a ‘selfish’ passenger who, despite sitting right next to her on a train, rudely crowded his foot entirely into her legroom space.
The GP was left fuming after her seat-neighbour manspread with no regard for her during their journey.
Venting her frustrations on social media, Dr Neena Jha from Hertfordshire, took to Twitter to document the poor travel etiquette.
The rude commuter, who was wearing cargo shorts, spread his legs out until they were less than an inch away from hers.
‘Sat next to a really selfish guy who refuses to move his leg from my space,’ she wrote.

Her post sparked outrage as thousands of social media users couldn’t believe how blatantly invasive the man was.
‘That’s taking the p**s,’ one fumed. ‘I would actually ask him to move his leg under his seat.’
‘He knows what he’s doing,’ a second added.
‘Social conditioning and his need to exert dominance through physical posture.
‘What a p***k,’ a third voiced, raging that they’re ‘sick of their entitlement’.
However not everyone was so quick to criticise, as one man wondered if other factors were at play.
‘While I accept its most likely manspreading, do spare a thought for us taller men,’ he explained.

‘I’m 6’6′ and they reduced the legroom in trains and planes to the point that I now basically cannot fit with sitting both legs to one side or another.’
However, there was a victorious resolution.
Fuelled by the collective outrage, Dr Jha decided to take matters into her own hands.
‘I just stretched my legs out and he’s left in a huff,’ she revealed. ‘What a win.

‘I’m so awful at speaking up and standing up for myself, I definitely need to work on that.’

The word ‘manspreading’ was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2015 following an online campaign against the practice since 2013.
The dictionary definition is the ‘practice of a man sitting on public transport with his legs wide apart, taking up more space than he needs and preventing other people from sitting down’
