Piers Morgan claims This Morning scandal will ‘end with corpsed careers’

Phillip Schofield: PR expert on Holly Willoughby’s future

Piers Morgan, 58, has once more weighed into the This Morning fallout as he compared the TV show to the 1992 crime movie Reservoir Dogs.

The former GMB news presenter alleged that the ongoing scandal would see a lot of “corpsed careers” as the public and celebrities continue to weigh in on the situation.

Piers tweeted: “I fear we’re now entering the Reservoir Dogs phase of the This Morning scandal… and it could end up with a lot of corpsed careers.”

Reservoir Dogs stars Harvey Keitel and sees Six criminals, hired to steal diamonds. While attempting the heist, the police ambushes them, leading them to believe that one of them is an undercover officer.

In response, some followers said it was time the show ended “for good”.

@VictoriaDarragh commented: “There isn’t any way back from this. The show needs to end. Even the founder of TM said so herself. New show, new presenters and new exec team. ITV seems to be slow on working this out themselves.” (sic)

@Tempesinsanity9 added: “Good, it needs to hit the fan with a lot of sackings at ITV.”

@cramb_ann remarked: “None of them are coming across well…”

It comes as Phillip took to Instagram to hit out at “loud voices” who have blasted him and This Morning for its “toxicity”.

The former ITV host has said he has “noticed” in recent days that it is the “same handful of people” with a “grudge” against him and the show.

In a post on Instagram, Phillip wrote: “Now I no longer work on @thismorning I am free to say this.

“I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

“This morning IS the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity.

“You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like.

“But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it IS a family of wonderful, talented, kind and hardworking people.”

On Friday the picture-perfect image of This Morning has come crashing down as Phillip made an admission to having an affair with a much younger male colleague while he was still married.

Phillip shared the bombshell after he announced that he is stepping away from ITV for good.

Meanwhile, a source told The Mirror his co-host Holly Willoughby has no intentions of quitting This Morning and hopes to “ride out the scandal”.

“The only way in which Holly would ever choose to leave the ITV programme is if the show itself was axed as a whole,” the source claime
