‘One twin is breech and one transverse – so a natural birth is unlikely’, says Amy Childs

The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs exclusively revealed with OK! that she’s expecting twins with her boyfriend Billy Delbosq – something which came as a shock to the pair.

While Amy, 32, had come off contraception earlier this year, the reality TV star didn’t expect to conceive so quickly as she discovered she was pregnant just two months later. Making the surprise even bigger, she later found out she’s carrying twins.

Now, in her exclusive column for OK!, Amy is charting her pregnancy, and how she feels like she’s “going back to square one” despite having had two babies before.

This week Amy talks about her issues with the twins positioning in her tummy, her new car, and how Billy’s “nesting” too.

We’re off to The Baby Show

We’re going to The Baby Show to get some last minute bits for the babies. Frankie Essex and Luke will be there too, so we’re going to meet up with them for a little while to see the twins. It should be good!

We’ve had a great response to our new show

We announced last week that we’re getting our own show with the twins and we’ve had a great response. I’ve had a lot of other mums, twin mums in particular, saying it’s fab that a twin show’s coming out. Honestly, the reactions we’ve got have been amazing. We’re filming near enough every single day until the twins come.

People say about me being glam all the time, but they’ll get to see me with no make-up on and hair in a bun. It’s going to be a normal life and completely stripped back.

We got our new car!

We’ve picked our new car up. We’re going to be a family of six so we got a seven seater. It’s going to be just weeks now before the twins get here. Anything can happen, but we’ll be ready for them.

Things aren’t looking good for my natural birth…

We’ve got a breech twin at the moment. The boy’s breech, so he’s not playing ball. You can still have a natural birth if a twin is breech, but it’s just about what’s safest for the babies. Labour is so complicated anyway and it can make things so much harder for twin two.

I’ve got the consultants on board, the doctors, the midwives, to get what they think. As I’ve said, I’m 33 weeks on Wednesday and anything can happen.

The little girl is transverse at the moment too, so she’s laying across me. It’s not looking possible for a natural birth at the minute, but I’m manifesting for it.

Billy’s nesting too

Billy’s not really sleeping at the moment. We went into hospital the other day and the lady asked: “How are you feeling?” and Billy goes: “Yeah I’m not bad thanks”. I was like: “She’s talking to me!” We were really laughing.

I feel like Bill’s body is getting ready for the twins because he keeps getting up at 3 o’clock in the morning. They do say sometimes that men can feel the change coming. He’s nesting and getting ready for the baby!

When they come, we’ll have to be in sync with one another. We’ll have to be a tag team. This weekend we’re going to get the hospital bag ready, and then we’re basically prepped and primed for the twins’ arrival.
