A size 26 influencer has revealed the top must-have travel essentials she likes to take on holidays to hot places.

Kirsty Leanne, 29, from Shropshire, is a content creator with a blog called Plus Size Travel Too, as well as her TikTok account (@kirstyleannetravels) where she shared her recent video about plus-size travel essentials.

Among the items she listed were shoes with adjustable straps, to account for swelling, comfortable clothes, a strong backpack, XL beach towel, and chub rub shorts.

Other favourites on the list were spray mist sunscreen, which she said is useful for protecting otherwise hard-to-reach places and a microfibre cooling towel for sweat and keeping cool.

Among the other items on Kirsty’ list was spray mist sunscreen, which she said helps when it comes to hard-to-reach places

The final items she listed were a wheelie suitcase, which is easier to move than a bag which has to be carried, a portable fan, and finally, a sense of adventure.

TikTok users took to the comments section to praise the video for being helpful and, and also for giving them confidence.

One wrote: ‘Finally got the courage to book a solo holiday, so your account is going to be a godsend lmao.’

According to Kirsty, while her content has prompted a lot of mean comments from people, she is undeterred from sharing about her travels

The video prompted people to take to the comments section, and share their own thoughts on plus size travel

Another added: ‘I took most of these on my recent holiday to San Sebastián! Highly recommend!’

Earlier this year, Kirsty made a travel video that went viral, and resulted in her receiving thousands of fat phobic comments on online trolls.

The video, in which she shared her experience flying on Ryanair, and revealed that the seats were too smaller for larger travellers, prompted social media users to brand the blogger a ‘cow’, and tell her to sit in the cargo hold.

According to the content creator, she gets between 50 and 3,000 hateful comments a day under videos or articles.

And she said that not a day went by for weeks after posting her viral video that she did not receive mean-spirited comments from strangers online.

However, she pledged not to listen to the hateful comments, and to continue making content for fellow plus-size travellers.

Speaking about rude comments, she said: ‘Happy people don’t hurt others and for the most part, the people leaving these comments are not happy in their own lives and so take it out on others.

‘If you’re ever in the position where you receive a lot of comments, remember that their opinions don’t have to define you.

‘Deal with it in whatever way helps you best and continue being your awesome self.

‘For those that leave hate comments on people’s posts, remember there’s a person just like you behind the screen reading them.’

The blogger also shares her adventures on her travel blog, Plus Size Travel Too , where she talks about travelling as a plus size person and says the experience is less than comfortable for larger people

Plus-size travel blogger once again splits opinion after claiming trying to fit into a plane seat causes ’emotional damage’

Plus-size travel blogger Kirsty Leanne, 29, from Shropshire, first hit the headlines a few months ago when sharing another viral TikTok of herself struggling to fit into a plane seat.

The video left TikTok users divided, with some critics telling her to buy two tickets or stop flying.

Kirsty, who runs a website about travelling as a plus size person called Plus Size Travel Too, is a passionate traveller, but says the experience is less comfortable for larger people.

‘I travel regularly and flying is definitely one of the most stressful parts of travelling while fat,’ she said.

Choosing a comfortable seat, asking for a seatbelt extender, tray tables not going down, small bathrooms are all things to worry about when larger people travel and so Kirsty ‘wanted to show people that they’re not alone.’

‘I wanted to make a light-hearted video – using a very popular TikTok trend – to illustrate things that I know a lot of people face when they travel.’

She went on to explain that choosing a comfortable seat, asking for a seatbelt extender, tray tables not going down, and small bathrooms are all things to worry about when larger people travel and so she ‘wanted to show people that they’re not alone.’

In the TikTok, Kirsty can be seen boarding a plane before sitting down and showing the seatbelt tight against her stomach, while the tray table isn’t able to come fully down – captioning the post ’emotional damage.’

The clip was viewed more than one million times and racked up 42,000 likes, but divided users.

Some people insisted Kirsty deserves to fly comfortably, while others felt the airlines shouldn’t have to change to accommodate plus size people.
