Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without an abundance of cheese-topped crackers. Which means that, yes, we have basically been living off the stuff for the past few days – and haphazardly attempting to follow the scientific formula for the perfect cheese and cracker as we do so, too. Because, yes, that genuinely exists.

Now, the formula is very much focused on the classic cheddar, but it’s worth remembering that, from buttery gruyere to creamy camembert, strong stiltons to fruity Wensleydale rounds, there’s a cheese out there to suit every mood, every meal, and everyone. And no dinner party (even if that’s just you watching telly on the sofa at home) would be complete without a well-stocked cheeseboard.
