While the jockeys and their horses battled it out on the racecourse, revellers competed in the fashion stakes at Yarmouth Races Ladies Day today.

Elegant racegoers strutted their stuff in form-fitting dresses, hoping to take the lead and bag the Style Award. The event began its last day this morning after going ahead on Sunday following the Queen’s death last Thursday.

However, the organisers announced on their website that the fixture would be modified to include tributes to Her Majesty through out the week.

They revealed that flags would be flown half-mast and that a period of silence will be observed prior to the opening race at each meeting, with racers wearing a black armband while competing.

One racegoer stunned in a form-fitting flower gown with a frilly hem, while her friend sported a trusted white dotted design with black stilettos

Other revellers opted for colour bloc looks, with one wearing a pink pleated dress with a matching feathery fascinator and black platforms

Racegoers put their best foot forward in stylish getups while racers gave all they had in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.

Making the most of the clement September temperatures, the ladies of the day flocked to the race court in their best dresses and hills.

Two ladies looked particularly stylish, one wearing a form-fitting silky green sling dress with a golden clutch while her friend donned a navy figure-hugging number with a white fascinator tied to her blonde locks.

Elsewhere, a racegoer put on a colourful display with a navy dress with a pink off-shoulder neckline, and a matching hat with an intricate fascinator.

Meanwhile, other revellers opted for colour bloc looks, with one wearing pink from the bottom of her heels and the hem of her pleated dress to the top of her fascinator.

Her friend wore a green look with a plunging neckline, while another racegoer opted for a lacy white dress with a black belt, black bag and equally black fascinator.

While they watched the action unfold on the racecourse, some racegoer kept a look at the score on their phone.  And when some went all out and sported sleeveless dresses, others wrapped up in windbreaker jackets.

The Yarmouth races takes place yearly, and other equestrian events are scheduled at the racecourse in October and January.
