Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in the homes – or neighborhoods – of your favorite on-screen characters?
Well, a team of expert realtors from La Jolla in San Diego have have revealed the value of some of the most iconic homes on our screens, from Monica’s purple-hued apartment in Friends to the cozy cottage from The Holiday where Cameron Diaz is wooed by Jude Law.
Using zip codes, the team calculated the average price of similar homes within the same area, revealing how much it would cost to buy the house if it was on sale today. While many of these homes are fictional and don’t actually exist, these prices give you a good idea of how much a place in the area would go for. Take a tour below to see how much it would cost to live in your movie or TV dreams.
ON THE CASE: Jessica Fletcher’s home in Murder She Wrote – $700,000

The idyllic seaside town of Cabot Cove served as the fictional New England setting for popular TV series Murder She Wrote, starring Angela Lansbury as amateur detective Jessica Fletcher.
In fact, the filming actually took place in Mendocino, California, with a Victorian bed and breakfast on the corner of Ford and Little Lake Street serving as Fletcher’s home.
The property’s owner Grover Wickersham described the cast and crew as ‘friendly and casual.’ He added: ‘It was common to see Angela Lansbury stop to speak with a toddler, or for Tom Bosley to sign his autograph on a Glad Bag box, proudly presented by a shopper, stepping out of the local grocery store.

While many movies have been filmed in and around the picturesque town of Mendocino, few have left behind such lasting feelings of endearments.
‘Universal Studios broadcasted 264 episodes of Murder She Wrote between September, 1984 and May, 1996. Local residents looked forward to the filming, as over a hundred and fifty were chosen to play background parts. A lucky few were cast for speaking roles,’ he said.
Fletcher’s home Blair House is still owned by the Wickershams, and it remains a bed and breakfast with rooms starting from $200 a night. Realtors say for a five-bedroom property similar to Fletcher’s in Maine where she supposedly lived, the price tag would be about $700,000.

While the apartment was meant to be in Seattle, filming for Frasier actually took place at the Paramount Studio in Los Angeles and on the same sound stages of Cheers.
According to one Reddit user, there was a ‘quick view’ looking up at Fraser’s apartment building in one episode showing the exterior.
While the apartment was fictitious along with the name of the building, the Redditor says the exterior shot showed a real tower block in downtown Seattle at 2nd Avenue and Cedar Street.
Realtors say that a similar three-bedroom apartment to Frasier’s would cost $1.5 million today.
