Selena Gomez sparks Barbiecore mani trend with gorgeous pink nails

With the much-anticipated Barbie film due to be released in just a few weeks time, it seems everyone is firmly on board the Barbie train, with outfits, accessories and makeup looks mirroring everyone’s renewed love of the iconic dolls.

Selena Gomez opted for a subtle baby pink shade as she visited celebrity manicuristTom Bachikfor her latest nail designs, opting for a ballerina shape which is a softer version of the angled coffin style with a square tip and rounded corners.

For her colour, Selena chose a subtle ballerina-worthy shade of pink, with Tom captioning the photo of her mani “Barbie-core”.

Fans were loving Selena’s official entry into the Barbie trend, writing: “OMG SELENA IN BARBIE ERA!!! So cuteee!!!”, whilst another commented: “Our real life Barbie”.

Selena’s block pink colour is the easiest way to include some Barbie inspiration into your nails, although there are plenty of other designs, ranging from ultra elaborate to a subtle nod depending on your preferred type of mani.

London-based manicuristIram Sheltonalso opted for a solid block colour on one of her pink-themed manicures, although she went for a much more traditional shade of Barbie pink on her client’s nails, writing: “On Wednesdays we wear…” followed by lots of pink coloured emojis, before adding: “I predict lots of pink for 2023!”

Although Barbie might not typically scream minimalism, nail artistNaomi B, who’s favoured by influencers like Tara Maynard, shows how you can do something completely unique and simple and still create an eye-catching Barbie inspired manicure.

Her subtle pink edges around the cuticles are a different take on the classic French manicure, and help add some Barbie spirit to your nails without committing to a full pink look.

Celebrity manicuristDiem Truongalso offered a unique spin on the traditional Frenchie, showing how you can include a whole host of different shade of pink into your mani without it looking too chaotic.

Her subtle pink tips are done in a gradient of pink shades, starting from a delicate barely-there shade and ending on a vibrant fuchsia tone for some ultra chic Barbie-core inspo.
