Shoppers rush to buy baby must-have slashed from £125 to £38 in iconic brand’s up to 70% off closing down sale | The Sun

SHOPPERS have been rushing to snap up bargains in an iconic brand's 70% off closing down sale.

Cath Kidston fans have bagged reductions as big as £87 off in its online sale – ahead of all shops shutting for good.

The brand is currently offering 50% off everything – with up to 70% off select lines.

Back in March, Next agreed to buy Cath Kidston, known for its kitsch floral designs, out of administration.

The high street giant bought the brand name, domain names and intellectual property for the business for £8.5million.

But the four remaining standalone Cath Kidston stores are still set to close.

Plus, two concession stores in Colne and Sheffield, will be pulling down the shutters for good.

One bargain hunter posted on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to share her finds.

She said: "Cath Kidston have a huge sale online atm, nappy bags, changing bags, children/baby clothing, homeware, women’s fashion etc all 50-70% off."

She shared screenshots of various items, including a Marble Hearts Ditsy Tote Backpack Baby Changing Bag set which was originally priced at £125 – now reduced to £37.50.

Others items show included another polka dot set reduced from £115 to £30 and a tote bag slashed to £22.50 from £45.

The post was met with more than 30 likes and over a dozen comments from shoppers eager to bag a bargain and describing the bags as "cute".

Many tagged their pals to alert them to the sale, which will only be on for as long stocks last.

Fellow bargain hunters on the Facebook group have been sharing their own finds in the huge sale.

One said: "I got a lovely tea set and jewellery box, both half price to put away for my little girls birthday."

Another said: "Just got two backpacks for the kids! Half price not bad for nursery and days out."

Of course not everything is a huge bargain, with some items only reduced by 50%.

Some shoppers have pointed out that some stock was priced pretty highly before so the discounts don't make a huge difference.

Make sure to take advantage of the biggest savings and have a shop around for the best items.

Also, always factor in delivery charges when shopping online.

The website will continue to operate as normal until no later than June 20.

Cath Kidston was founded in 1993, and first collapsed into administration in April 2020 with 60 UK stores closing and 908 jobs lost.

But it has still been trading online and the four standalone stores have continued to operate.

The brand was set up by designer Cath Kidston and had more than 200 outlets around the world at its peak.

Cath Kidston isn't the only shop chain holding huge closing down sales recently.

Before the B&M in Bishop Auckland closed, it too held a big 50% off sale with customers calling it "absolutely unreal".

Plus, shoppers will be able to bag some big bargains today at a Farmfoods' closing down sale.

And, before all M&Co stores closed for good last month, it too held a massive 80% off sale in some branches.
