Tesco issues ‘do not eat’ warning on popular grocery item | The Sun
TESCO is urging shoppers to return some of its cheese products over concerns it may contain pieces of plastic.
The product recalls apply to Tesco's Creamfields grated cheese.
Customers who have bought the affected products have been warned not to eat it by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
The Agency, which regulates food providers, said that shoppers should instead, return it to the store from where it
was bought.
A product recall alert notice by Tesco reads: "We’re recalling one date code of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar 500g.
"This is because it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat."

The product impacted is the Creamfields grated cheddar 500g, best before date 23 March, 2023.
The FSA, which posted the issue, has said customers can get a refund from stores directly.
Tesco said: "If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t eat it.
"Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given.

It comes as Iceland recalled Mars dessert bars because they may contain peanuts and egg, which are not mentioned on the labels.
Coca-Cola also issued an urgent recall of multipacks over health concerns.
What are my rights to a refund?
If you're returning a recalled product, your rights to get a refund depends on whether the fault makes the product unsafe.
Sometimes the business will repair the product, for example by fitting a new part. But this should be done for you.
If a fault makes a product unsafe to use — and it's difficult to correct the fault — the Consumer Guarantees Act says you might have the right to reject the product and claim a replacement or a refund.
