The Apprentice Joe Phillips’ stunning safari guide life – shirtless snaps to wildlife encounters
The Apprentice has made it's long-awaited return to our TV screens, and with it comes a host of new business hopefuls, and one who is living a lifestyle quite different from that of a typical wannabe business partner.
Joe Phillips, who hopes to wow Lord Alan Sugar with his ocean-friendly lip balm business, has switched his stunning safari life in South Africa for the London boardroom, describing himself as the "James Bond of the business world."
The safari guide turned lip balm mogul, told press: "I don’t deserve Lord Sugar’s investment more than anyone else in the process, but I do think I have something that they don’t.
"If Lord Sugar wants to invest in a business to help save the ocean, one lip balm at a time, then I’m his guy."
According to his website, the Worcestershire native spent much of his younger years abroad, before returning to the UK where he studied Zoology at the University of Exeter in Cornwall.
He writes: "I grew up in the developing world and spent my childhood running barefoot around the African savanna. I developed a love for nature and a real passion for conservation."
Following graduation, Joe appears to have continued his travels, at one point working as a Safari Guide in South Africa, sharing photos and video clips of his stunning lifestyle to Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
He left South Africa earlier this year, sharing a photo of himself on horseback to his Instagram profile, he wrote: "Going to miss this place x."
Joe's Instagram is full of photos of the stunning South African safari where he worked and snaps showing off his sporting ability.
One snap sees the business mogul posing shirtless with a surfboard on a Cornish beach, while another sees him riding horses in the Sahara Desert.
Describing himself, in his Instagram bio as a "Conservationist & Entrepreneur," Joe regularly shows off his love of animals sharing snaps of both wild animals and his own pet dog.
In one video clip he gets up close to elephant, writing: "The aim of a bush walk is to observe animals without being noticed yourself. We try to avoid situations like this but when they come it’s important read the animals behaviour.
"An elephant doesn’t want to hurt you! So don’t give it a reason to."
With his rather unique background, Joe may bring something new to the boardroom, and he'll certainly be the only candidate qualified to decide which is scarier: facing a lion, or Lord Sugar's boardroom.
