Victoria Beckham slammed for 'underage-looking' model in new campaign

Victoria Beckham is criticised over model who looks ‘underage’ posing in her new underwear collection as followers say ‘uncomfortable’ image should be ‘taken down’

  • Victoria Beckham has come under fire for the model used in new campaign
  • The designer, 48, was slammed as people said the model looked like a child
  • Mother-of-four has been criticised before for the ‘ill’ appearance of her models

Fashion fans have slammed Victoria Beckham for using an ‘underage’ looking model in her new campaign.

Showing off new pieces in her VB body capsule collection, the fashion designer, 48, posted a black-and-white photo of model Morgan Porter in one of the cardigans.

Morgan is signed to Storm Models and has shot campaigns for Louis Vuitton and walked the catwalk for Victoria Beckham and Jil Sander.

The caption read: ‘Meticulously designed and new to the VB Body capsule collection, the cropped cardigan hugs the body whilst accentuating the waist.

Victoria Beckham’s fashion brand has been criticised for using a model who fans say looks ‘underage’ and ‘like a child’

The model, who is wearing pieces from VB Body’s capsule collection, was dubbed childlike by Victoria Beckham’s followers

Fans commented on the young appearance of the model chosen for the campaign, whose age is unknown

The fashion designer has been criticised in the past for the models involved in her campaigns

Available in black and white, it’s the perfect layering piece.’

But the cardigan itself was lost on fans, who were more concerned about the appearance and age of the model.

With many people agreeing she looked ‘too young’, fashion fans slammed the designer for choosing her to front the campaign.

While the age of the model is unclear and has not been confirmed, people thought she at least looked like she wasn’t very old.

One person wrote: ‘This image isn’t right! If she isn’t a child she is very child like which obviously is what you wanted. Just wrong!’

Fans of the fashion brand were quick to express their discontent with the model that had been chosen

Another said: ‘Model is way too young. Totally inappropriate.’

Some people thought the model was so young they were convinced the photo was a ‘child in their underwear’.

This is not the first time the designer and mother-of-four has come under fire for her choice of models.

In 2019 people criticised the brand for using a ‘skeletal’ model who was ‘ill-looking’, which they said promoted an unhealthy body image.

Back in March 2016, Victoria received criticism on social media after posting a quirky GIF of a model on her Instagram page.

The fashion designer quickly saw the moving picture, which showed a young, blonde-haired model turning left and right against a backdrop of the New York skyline, amass 32,000 likes.

While many fans have criticised the younger model used in the new VB Body capsule collection, they welcomed the casting of a plus-size woman

Fans praised the ‘curvaceous’ model and said the brand was finally representing women of all sizes

However, many of the nearly 300 comments rounded on the designer for using a model they felt was ‘way too thin’.

While this particular photo has riled up fans, other promotions from the campaign have won approval for showcasing models of different shapes and sizes.

After a video was posted of a plus-size model showcasing the new collection, fans praised the designer for using ‘models of all sizes’.

One person wrote: ‘Finally qween! (sic) You listened to our feedback and used curvaceous models for your campaign.’

Another said: ‘As a larger lady I love this. Hard to stay classy when your options are SHEIN or a tent for two.’

Although it appears the designer is listening to fans’ comments about being more inclusive with the models chosen for campaigns, she has defended her use of more slender models in the past.

Responding to criticism about ‘skinny’ models, she told The Telegraph: ‘They’re young, they’re thin, but that doesn’t mean they’re ill.’

FEMAIL has contacted Victoria Beckham for comment.

While fans were quick to point out their anger at the young-looking model, they heaped praise on the designer for showing a curvier model
