The annual husband calling competition sees wives shouting, singing, shrieking and yodeling their partner’s names

The video begins with one woman, who won fifth place, yelling out, ‘Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, hurry up. I don’t want to be late.’ The fourth place caller followed and delivered an impressive yodel of her husband’s name.

Next up, one woman decided to sing her husband’s name in an opera style, while the second place winner opted for a classic take and simply just shouted ‘Daryl.’

And finally, the winner of it, Bonnie Swalell Eilert screamed her husband’s name Roy out at a pitch so high that many weren’t even sure it existed before angrily adding, ‘Can you hear me? You get yourself in here right now. Come on! You know you’re gonna be late again and you know that I want to get there on time.’

In a follow-up video, which was from the Iowa State fair of 2021, the women were seen screaming, yodeling and even jumping on stage while yelling out their partner’s names.

One woman began by yodeling ‘Roy,’ before adding, ‘honey get yourself in here.’

Another woman truly put her all into her performance as she was seen jumping up and down while screaming ‘Terry you come here right now.’

And in true Iowa fashion, the next woman called for her husband Stan to ‘help with the cattle.’

The next woman proudly sang ‘Troy,’ while another shouted for her husband Jared to help ‘with the babies.’

And then the champion Camellia Pohl appeared and gave a ‘modern art performance,’ according to social media users, and rolled her R’s while screaming out Randy and throwing her hands up in the air.

The next fair is in August and the schedule will be posted during the summer months before the events are set to take place

And if a husband calling contest wasn’t quirky enough, the fair also offers mom calling, hog calling and chicken calling contests.

The next fair is in August and the schedule will be posted during the summer months before the events are set to take place.

And while you may have to wait a few months to show off your yelling skills, contestants will have plenty of time to perfect their calls and can even sign up for the contest the day of the fair.
