Six mums decided to really make the most of a day away from their kids by jetting off to sun-soaked Ibiza before heading back to their normal lives on Monday morning.

Rebecca Ratcliff, 38, from Manchester, and her pals Danielle, Lauren, Laura, Danielle and Fay, jumped at the chance when they found return flights to the White Island for just £34 each.

The six mums, who have 15 children between them, booked the flights in February for their March 26 trip.

Only taking a handbag with them each, they had to be up at 01:30 on Sunday morning to make it to Manchester airport for their 06:00 flight.

And once there, they had just 12 hours to pack in as much sun, sea and sangria as possible for flying home at 11pm that night, squeezing in a quick nap and being up the next morning for the school run and work.

Rebecca and her pals made the most of their 12 hours in Ibiza by seeing the sights and soaking up the sunshine

Speaking about the holiday, Rebecca, a travel consultant and mum-of-four, said: ‘We were keen to look for a good deal and everybody loves the Ibiza sunshine.

‘We found Ryanair flights, and we knew that for everyone to be able to come it had to be on a Sunday.’

In addition to the cheap flights the thrifty mums paid £10 each for a return minibus to Manchester airport, and £23 each to travel around the island in a private minibus.

After touching down on the Balearic island, Rebecca and her friends headed to old Ibiza town for brunch at Passion cafe and then to San Antonio bay to soak up as much sunshine as possible.

Rebecca said that although many of the shops and cafes were closed because it was Sunday and slightly out of season, they enjoyed strolling around and drinking up the atmosphere – clocking up over 26,000 steps each.

The gang then treated themselves to cocktails overlooking the marina before hitting the beach for some sunbathing using biodegradable towels that can be folded up to fit in your bag.

Rebecca and her friends ended their day with a meal and watching the sunset at Café Mambo before being picked up to go back to the airport.

She said: ‘It was such a good day.

‘I spent time in gorgeous company with supportive friends all on the mum journey together.

‘We all felt we’d been there longer than a day.

‘You feel refreshed after 12 hours in the sunshine.’

Sharing a montage of the fun they had on TikTok, Rebecca’s video was soon inundated with messages from other mums keen to do the same thing.

One woman wrote: ‘would be great being this sensible but I definitely wouldn’t make the flight back .’

‘I have images of us doing this in a couple years time when the boys are grown hen, added another mother tagging her friend.

Another TikTok user added: ‘Totally deserved enjoy ladies.’

While a fourth gushed: ‘Stunning ladies.’
