Whoopi Goldberg jokingly walked off “The View” stage while live on-air Tuesday – all over a heated debate regarding Miranda Lambert’s decision to stop a concert and yell at fans who were taking selfies.
The TV host initially appeared irritated when she brought up the topic to her co-hosts, rolling her eyes while letting out a sigh as she told the story.
Alyssa Farah Griffin then kicked off the debate by saying she saw both sides in the argument.
However, she felt Lambert shouldn’t “embarrass” any concertgoers who pay money to come see her shows.
“Well no, they don’t wanna be there,” Goldberg clapped back, implying the fans were being rude by taking pics while Lambert was performing in the intimate venue.
”They paid money for the tickets, they came to see her, so she’s singing. [Give] at least a little respect … acknowledge that you can see her [and] she can see you too.”
Goldberg then compared Lambert’s concert at Las Vegas’ Bakkt Theater – which seats 7,000 people – to one of a “lounge singer” playing in a “bar” where “nobody’s listening to you.”
Sara Haines agreed with Goldberg, adding that it didn’t help that the women were seated so close to the stage when Lambert was “starting a ballad.”
However, Sunny Hostin chimed in and stated that she was “not split on this at all” and that she felt Lambert was in the wrong, no doubt.
“The expensive tickets in the VIP section that they were in are $757. I’m gonna take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757, I’m sorry, just me,” Hostin said while the audience applauded.
Hostin’s comment appeared to aggravate Goldberg, as she immediately quipped that the group should “stay home” if that’s the case.
“Give me the respect of watching me while I’m doing my thing or don’t come!” the “Sister Act” actress shot back.
Hostin began to say more to support her point. But before she could, Goldberg stood up from her seat, walked off the stage and made her way into the audience.
“I’m leaving, y’all!” Goldberg, 67, said as she made her exit.
The “Sister Act” star then wandered into the crowd to prove her point. She stopped to take a selfie with a “marvelous” 91-year-old woman before the show cut out for a commercial break.
As previously reported, Lambert, 39, faced backlash from several of her fans who criticized her for “humiliating” the group of women trying to take a photo at the concert in Sin City.

“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry. These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit,” Lambert said over the weekend.
Adela Calin, one of the fans Lambert reprimanded, admitted to NBC News that she felt like she “was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place.”
“I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature and vain,” she told the outlet Monday.
“But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture,” she continued. “We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down.”
The “Drunk” songstress has yet to respond to her critics but has instead posted a selfie unrelated to the news.
