Women drivers warned about deadly accessory that could be fatal in crash

Female drivers have been warned to take off a popular accessory before they start driving as it could be fatal in a crash.

Amanda Schwartz, who posts online as @amandaschwartz730, issued a harrowing warning to women about their claw hairclips as they could cause horrific injuries in a car crash.

Scientists began issuing warnings against the claw clip after a five-year-old girl reportedly fell down and suffered brain damage because of the claw clip back in 2011.

However, a viral trend is now seeing women warning against wearing it in the car as they fear it could become embedded in their skulls in a collision.

In the video, which has gained more than 91,000 likes, the driver said: "This is your reminder to take your claw clip out before you start driving.

"Women who are driving with claw clips in their hair are getting into crashes, and these claws are embedding into their skulls.

"Don't take any chances – take out your claw clip, bring a brush with you, and fix your hair when you get to where you're going.

"The last thing you want is to maybe get in a crash and have this little claw clip puncture your skull. I know that sounds morbid, but like apparently it's happening."

TikTok viewers took to the comments praising Amanda for her warning as they vow to not wear them in the car in future.

One user wrote: "I just recently got into wearing claw clips. This is crazy."

A third commented: "New scariness unlocked. But good info."

However, one user argued: "Just don’t get into an accident, drive safe and watch out for the other guy!"
