42 Hollyoaks pictures reveal first look as Maxine is attacked on walk home

Hollyoaks explores the issue of women’s safety via a series of special episodes next week, as Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) is assaulted following a night out.

Maxine, Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter), Verity Hutchinson (Eva O’Hara) and Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) boycott a series of local bars and enjoy a night out in Liverpool.

Things, however, soon take a turn, as Maxine gets separated from her friends and is ultimately thrown out of the club.

The Long Walk Home episode, which airs on Monday (November 7) on E4, picks up from here, as Maxine navigates her way home alone without money or a mobile phone after the fun girl’s night out.

But horror strikes, with Maxine violently attacked by the end of the night.

She will subsequently her examine whether different choices she had made during the evening would’ve changed the outcome.

Lucy Allan, Hollyoaks’ Executive Producer, discussed the episode earlier this year, telling us what viewers can expect from the powerful outing.

‘It replays several scenarios that sadly women will be all too familiar with; it’s about what can happen on a night out,’ she said. ‘That will be produced and crewed by an all-female team.

‘‘When [the story was pitched] in front of us in such a stark way, it felt really imperative that it was a story we got behind, and got behind with a character that our audiences knows and loves, but also recognises themselves in.’

We’ve got a first look at the powerful episode with 42 pictures, which you can view in our gallery above.

Hollyoaks airs The Long Walk Home episode on Monday November 7 at 7pm on E4, or on Tuesday November 8 at 6:30pm on Channel 4. Stream it first on All4 from midnight on Monday.
