A Place in the Sun guests disappointed at views outside Benidorm flat after hike

A Place in the Sun guests were let down when host Danni Menzies took them for a hike up to a property in popular holiday hotspot Benidorm.

Shepherd Ian and partner Anne were excited to buy their first property together and they were looking to spend £110,000 for a spacious holiday home to relax with their family.

Property expert Danni had a tough start when the house hunters refused to view a compact apartment in the town centre, so she took them further out to Playa de Poniente, two miles away from the old town.

Standing by the communal pool, the couple were impressed by the panoramic view overlooking the coast and the city view.

Anne smiled and said: "Amazing, I'm very impressed and I'm really glad you took us here because it's absolutely beautiful."

Taking a stroll closer to the property, Danni said there's a road down to the beach within five minutes' reach.

Anne was floored by the amazing view and Ian loved the traditional Spanish touch on the exterior.

But as they got to the terrace at the flat, they looked out and realised the view from there was not as great.

Ian said: "A bit disappointed with the view after what we've seen."

Danni explained: "The thing here is we've got so much more space on the inside for you that maybe we've compromised a little bit on the view from the property."

"That's fair enough," Ian frowned.

And she added: "I mean, a view at the beginning wasn't something that was utmost experience."

Anne, however, also felt let down while standing outside the property with sea views blocked by other high-rise buildings.

"It seems to be, I think, because you're showing us that many places that has got such a view," she shared her thoughts.

"It's certainly something we're starting to think about now."

Danni mentioned that there will be compromises given the limited budget of £110,000 – and suggested Ian and Anne to take a look inside the spacious flat before deciding the priorities.

The couple did like the space inside the flat but they had to rule out the property because of concerns on the climb up the hill.
