Adele breaks down in tears live on stage during Las Vegas show | The Sun

ADELE has broken down in tears live on stage during her Las Vegas show.

The Someone Like You singer, 34, cried after she had to postpone her shows there for 11 months, hours before she was due on stage.

Adele had been scheduled to start a three-month residence at the Caesars Palace Hotel in what were to be her first live appearances since 2017.

But in January 2022 she said it just wasn’t ready, and promised fans she’d “finish her show” and “get it to where it’s supposed to be.”

Now at that place, Adele, who is reported to be engaged, was tearful as she told the crowd: “I have been waiting for so long to get to this weekend and I didn't even realise it.

“What I haven't been able to get out of my head since the beginning of the show was that it took so long, and I was like, 'When am I ever going to say I've done my residency?’

“And this weekend, if not for the added shows, I would have completed my residency.

“When I cancelled the original dates it was terrifying to do. But better late than never, and the shows have been a success.

“I knew I was making the right decision.”

During her performance, Adele looked stunning in a black gown with her hair swept over to one side.

The star performed a series of hits from her latest album 30, along with many of her old classics.

Adele cried on stage too at the start of the month after a widower held up a photograph of his late wife while she was singing.

The Brit star was walking through the audience at the time when she spotted the chap holding up his phone.

It was only once she had returned to the stage that Adele realised what he had been trying to show her.

Adele went on to perform Someone Like You and, midway through, said: "This is for you, sir, who's showing me his wife on his phone."

Having finished the ballad, she then clutched her mic and cried as she told the audience: "When I walk through the crowd, I wish you could see what I can see because, I know I talk to a few people every night, but then I just see little stories of people happening.

"And there was a man – he's just there, can you see him holding his phone up?

"I think that's his wife on his phone and I don't think she's here. And it's really moved me."

Addressing the unnamed man directly, she wiped her eyes and continued: "It looks like you're here on your own and I'm just…I'm so so sorry. I'm so sorry for your loss. And I'm so sorry that I didn't realise what you were showing me until I was already over there."

Looking back to the rest of the audience in Caesars Palace, Adele added: "Sorry, but I see these little pockets of people's lives when I walk through and it's so beautiful."
