Tasha Ghouri, AJ Pritchard, Fats Timbo, Saffron Barker and Karim Zeroual took part in a social experiment as part of GMB’s 1 Million Minutes campaign. The five celebrities and social media stars answered specific questions devised by Dr Anna Colton to show how prevalent loneliness can be.
In a video shared exclusively with Express.co.uk, the five celebrities can be seen standing in a line.
They are asked to either stand still or step forward depending on the answers they give to Dr Anna’s questions.
Unknowingly, the celebrities answered questions that related to social isolation and loneliness.
Their answers ultimately revealed whether they have ever felt or experienced periods of loneliness.
Reflecting on the experiment, former Strictly Come Dancing star AJ said: “It’s a lonely world and there are so many pressures at the moment that you need to remove, and just ask for help.”
“I struggle to be in conversation because I have to lip-read quite a lot,” Tasha added.
“There have been many times where I’ve felt left out because I can’t understand what’s being spoken about.
“Feeling lonely is not an embarrassment, it’s a natural feeling.”
Saffron shared: “Whenever I’ve had bad mental health, normally it’s to do with loneliness.”
Meanwhile Karim noted: “I’ve definitely learned a lot.
“You can be surrounded by people, friends and family and still feel lonely.”
Good Morning Britain first launched their One Million Minutes campaign in 201
The news programme asked viewers to pledge their time instead of money, in order to help those feeling lonely at Christmas.
With the cost of living crisis stopping people from getting out and about more, it’s never been more important to talk about loneliness.
In its seventh years, One Million Minutes hopes to encourage viewers to give their time to charities such as Alzheimer’s Research UK, Grief Encounter and Re-engage.
Over 404 minutes have been donated to help connect those who feel alone.
