Alison Hammond tipped to ‘replace’ Phillip Schofield on This Morning
Dan Wooton: Phillip Schofield is the ‘the most loathsome person on TV’
In the bookmakers’ latest odds, Coral has tipped Alison Hammond to replace either Phillip Schofield or Holly Willoughby as a main presenter.
The Great British Bake Off star has been given odds of 4-5 (from 3-1) of being named as a This Morning presenter across the full week in 2023.
“With doubts about the future of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, we have slashed the odds on Alison Hammond being named as a presenter for the full five days of This Morning,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Hammond’s stock continues to rise and we make her the odds-on favourite to be a permanent presenter of the morning show,” added Hill.
The statistics come after Holly and Phillip both took a break from their hosting duties.
Earlier this week, Holly confirmed she would be taking the week off as she had shingles.
Taking to social media, she said: “Hi… Just to let you know I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles.
“I’ll be back as soon as I’m better. Huge love, Holly xxx.” (sic)
Phillip returned to This Morning on Monday after taking an extended Easter break from the show.

The presenter was joined by Rochelle Humes, who filled in for Holly.
The 61-year-old’s prolonged absence saw him leave at the start of March and during his time off, his regular co-host Holly fronted the programme alongside the likes of Joel Dommett and Alison.
However, following Phillip’s extended break from This Morning, he has faced calls to be replaced by Alison permanently.
GB News presenter Dan Wootton launched into a scathing rant earlier this week, branding Phillip “loathsome”.
In his latest Daily Mail column, the columnist ranted: “Why do ITV persist with the loathsome Phillip Schofield when they have the adorable and talented Alison Hammond waiting in the wings? Holly deserves a new This Morning partner.
“Despite being one of the longest serving and highest paid stars at the network, secured with a prized golden handcuffs deal, in my experience Phillip Schofield is also the most reviled.
“When I speak to many household name ITV presenters they don’t have a good word to say about the bloke who viewers know affectionately as Schofe.”
He continued: “For some reason, in my experience, ITV bosses always found excuses for the way Schofield treats people, even as they were prepared to throw the likes of fellow ITV Daytime stars Piers Morgan and Jeremy Kyle under the bus.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
