Kerry Katona in furious rant at Love Island stars who 'treat runners like s***' on TV saying daughter turned show down | The Sun

KERRY Katona has lashed out at fame-hungry Love Island stars who treat TV staff "like s**t" in an exclusive chat with The Sun.

The Atomic Kitten songstress, 42, who found fame with the all-female band, has torn strips out of the ITV2 alumni – and insisted her daughter doesn't want to be a part of it.

Kerry told us how her second-eldest child Lilly-Sue McFadden, 20 – who she shares with Westlife star Brian McFadden, 43 – has turned down the show twice.

This came despite the Whole Again singer admitting she had encouraged her to rake in the cash from Love Island the first time around.

Now Kerry has had a change of heart and – without naming names – told us how she had seen the show's star's rudeness first-hand.

Runners are on one of the lowest rungs of the career ladder working in TV and assisting guests – and Kerry told how they had faced the brunt of the reality TV stars' self-entitled attitudes.

Speaking at the launch of her autobiography Whole Again, Kerry said: "These Love Island kids all want to be famous and get fashion deals, and then they talk to runners like f**king s**t.

"It’s like, you’ve been famous for five minutes, love.

"Who the f**k are you talking to? I have been in the industry for 25 years and wouldn’t dream of talking to anybody like that."

Talking of her own conduct in the industry, she added: "If I am doing a job, I have been hired to do a job just like the runner is doing, so I expect me to do just as good a job as they are.

"That’s why these people don't last. I’ve been around forever – that's why I keep needing to get Botox."

Previously, Kerry told how she believed Lilly-Sue would "break the stereotype of girls entering the villa".

The mum-of-five told The Mirror: "Lilly is not a girly girl in that respect. I think so many kids, especially my Heidi, are messed up from the image that Love Island portrays."

"I want a girl in there who doesn't care about hair and make up, has wobbly bits and can have a joke and drink beer from a can."

Back in 2021, the young adult rejected the villa, telling OK!: "It's not a bit of me – not in a rude way, it's a fun show – but if I was going to make a big TV debut, it would not be with Love Island."

She continued: "I hate PDAs. I had a boyfriend for two years and I would not let him touch me in public."

"For most people going in the villa, being surrounded by all those hunky men, it's a dream come true. For me, it'd be my worst nightmare."

Lilly-Sue's father is former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, Kerry's first husband who's also dad to their eldest daughter, Molly.

Warrington-born Kerry acknowledged the impact the Love Island image has on young women, saying: "I said to Heidi 'what do you want to be?' and she said 'I want to be Molly-Mae [Hague]. All these young girls are starting to look the same."
