AMANDA Owen has paid an emotional tribute to her beloved family member following their sad death.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star recently shared the devastating news that her pet dog Kate had passed away.


She TV star, 48, took to social media to inform her fans of the sad news and revealed how Kate died.

She said: "Then there’s the other kind of mourning. 🙏

"Where you go to get your faithful workmate, companion, colleague & friend from her kennel. Only to find that she has passed away in her sleep. 🐶

"Kate….that’ll do. 😭."

As the Yorkshire Shepherdess was flooded with condolences from followers, she shared a tribute to her pet.

Posting on Twitter, Amanda shared clips of Kate helping her with the cattle on the farm as well as a selfie of them both.

"A long distance video that might go some way in demonstrating how intelligent, intuitive & devoted to her work Kate was," she penned.

"The sheep maybe not so much," she humorously added.

The tweet, which has amassed over 5,000 likes, saw fans leave their own tributes to Kate.

One said: "At some point in life you find a once in a lifetime dog, all are very special for different reasons, but when you have that once in a lifetime dog, & they gain their wings, they take a large part of you with them. Life without Kate will never be the same."

"I feel your hurt having lost 4 very close dogs myself over the years. Scatter her ashes somewhere you go regularly and talk to her when you pass by," said another fan.

A third posted: "One smart shepherdess and one smart dog, what a team. I've had many dogs over my long life and I miss them all, they were all special in their own way."

Amanda has had a difficult couple of weeks as she learned her Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm had been axed.

Owen, who has nine children with her estranged husband Clive, won't feature in a spin-off series that has been commissioned.
