Another Coronation Street exit confirmed as star confirms final scenes

Another star has left Coronation Street this week, it has been confirmed.

Lucy Avison, who has played the role of social worker Chloe since March, made the announcement that her time on the street had come to an end via Twitter.

The actress described her time on Corrie as a ‘wonderful experience’ and shared that she is looking forward to what the future may bring.

Chloe was heavily involved in a recent storyline that saw Abi Webster (Sally Carman) fight against Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) for the custody of their son, Alfie.

Lucy broke the news of her character’s exit in a tweet to her followers, explaining that she initially believed she would only feature in one episode.

‘Hey folks! Just letting you know that tonight is my last appearance as Chloe Pearson @itvcorrie I had such a wonderful experience, what started as one episode became nine!!!’

She also gave a shoutout to the agents that helped her to secure the gig on the popular ITV soap.

‘I am so looking forward to seeing what comes next and forever grateful for the opportunity xx @MarcandMcc’

Coronation Street is not Lucy’s first venture into television, having also appeared in the Lockdown Guerilla Shakespeare Festival in 2020.

Fans and co-stars alike shared their love for the actress, with Jack James Ryan, who plays Jacob Hay, saying ‘You’ve been brilliant Lucy x’.

Lucy is not the first person to announce an exit from Coronation Street in recent days. Jamie Kenna, who plays Phill, also had his final scenes air following his storyline with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall).
