Antiques Road Trip presenter Izzie Balmer made a jaw-dropping profit on a beautiful pair of pendants she bought for just £5.

Izzie Balmer and Ishy Khan were back on BBC One again tonight on the hunt for bargain antiques that could set them up for a big win at auction in Market Harborough.

The pair bought their item in Derbyshire – with Izzie sticking to her comfort zone of glassware during her first purchase.

But later in the show, she found a job lot of jewellery at the House of Antiques in Ilkeston and seized the opportunity to land an absolute bargain.

Balmer was seen looking into a jewellery box full of little trinkets – which was marked down as £30 for the box and it's contents.

She said: "I only looked in here, more out of habit, I didn't actually expect to find anything because I always think the dealers will have already been through it."

However, she managed to find a 9-karat gold pendant with precious white opal in the middle "which are prized on their play of colour" – surrounded by sapphires.

Upon further inspection, she also found a 1970s pendant, which was 18-karat gold and dubbed them "worth the risk depending on the price."

When she discussed it with the shop owner, he said she could purchase the items separately for £2.50 a piece.

She later sold the £5 collections as a pair at Gildings Auctions, Market Harborough – and proved her tiny gamble paid off.

The bidding started well in profit at £50 and quickly doubled to £100 with bidders online and in the room fighting for the buy.

Izzie clapped for herself as she realised she was onto a winner, raking in a £95 profit.

"Well don, you smashed it. Biggest profit so far," Ishy said.

To which, Izzie replied: "A great return on £5, isn't it?"

At the end of the episode, Izzie had taken a flying lead with £345.80. Her competitor Ishy finished with just £171.38.
