BBC Breakfast Carol Kirkwood snaps at co-star in row as Sally Nugent speechless
BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent was left in hysterics as weather presenter Carol Kirkwood lashed out at her co-star Jon Kay.
Carol’s job was more important than ever given the snow and ice warnings blanketing the UK, with travel disruption across the country.
Carol was discussing the forecast for the next few days on Tuesday (December 13) when Jon interrupted with a pretty standard question.
But Carol was less than impressed – and made it clear.
Jon said: “Is it quite unusual that so much of the UK is hit by this cold weather? It seems like pretty much everyone is getting it at the same time.”
Carol snapped back: “Well you’ve got to remember that it is winter, Jon, which of course I know you do. But we certainly are way below the average temperatures so yes, it is quite unusual.”
Adding insult to injury, she added: “But we expect cold weather, of course, in the winter.”
Sally, meanwhile, was trying hard to stifle her giggles – but a few stray chuckles got past her microphone.
She couldn’t help but laugh: “Oh Carol! I love that. We’ve got to remember it is winter. Poor Jon!”
Jon agreed: "Yeah, poor Jon."
