Rick Astley talks to BBC Breakfast about Glastonbury performance

Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were speaking to Rick Astley after it was revealed he would be performing at Glastonbury later this year.

The ’80s singer was added to the line-up this week alongside the likes of Arctic Monkeys Guns N’ Roses and Elton John.

Wanting to find know how he’s feeling about being included to play for one of the biggest festivals in the UK, the BBC Breakfast hosts spoke to Rick live from his home in South London.

Although when the 57-year-old appeared on screen, it looked as though he’d not long been out of bed as he was still wearing his night clothes with his hair ruffled up.

Informing the hosts that he’ll be at Glastonbury early on Saturday morning, he joked: “I’m still in my pyjamas now, I might do it in my pyjamas, to be honest.”

Sally asked: I was going to ask you, Rick, are they actually your pyjamas? They’re very smart.”

Confirming they were in fact his nightwear, he put his arms to the side and shimmied to show them off to Jon and Sally.

She replied: “I wish we could do the show in our pyjamas, I really do.”

After he had confessed to not getting changed from what he’d worn to bed the previous night, viewers watching the show were left in hysterics.

Taking to Twitter, @KitVickery said: “Absolute mood here (Also I love these PJs so much).”

@SannyEmmy added: “Oh love Rick Astley in his pyjamas on #bbcbreakfast has made my morning.”

@Kitty_kelliher commented: “I think Rick Astley being interviewed in his jimjams should become a regular feature on BBC Breakfast.”

At the end of their interview, Sally couldn’t resist mentioning his outfit choice once again as their chat drew to a close.

She said: “Rick Astley in your very smart pyjamas, thank you so much for talking to us and bringing the sunshine, we love it.”
