Helen Skelton slammed for 'thick' question while hosting Summer On The Farm – but can you see why? | The Sun

HELEN Skelton has been dubbed as "thick" by Summer on the Farm viewers after asking a "truly stupid" question on the show.

On Thursday evening, the popular show returned on Channel 5 and with it came Helen back in front of the camera – but her line of questioning soon stole the show.

The 38-year-old has been hosting popular Channel 5 live from Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley this week alongside co-star Martin Hughes-Games.

During last night's episode, Helen was slammed by viewers for a comment she made regarding the lack of male cows.

Helen and co-host Martin were live from the Tepee where Franny the cow had just given birth to her calf during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Farmers, Rob and Dave claimed the calf was a "surprise to us both" as she had it all by herself during the night.

Following the birth, Helen made a comment as to why you don't see many male cows on the farm – and viewers could hardly believe what they were hearing.

Taking to Twitter, one person penned: "I can't believe that Heln is so thick, especially given the programme she is fronting. Feel sorry for her fellow presenters."

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "Helen, you've just asked why you don't see many male calves. Do you know what veal is? The life of a cow is milk or meat. Truly stupid question."

While a third remarked: "That's because male calves have a tendency to be shot as soon as they're born."

The new series of Summer on the Farm comes after Helen announced she and her husband Richie Myler, with whom she has three children, had decided to part ways.

The Countryfile presenter announced her split from her husband of eight years back in April via an emotional statement on Instagram.
