BBC Breakfast host airs concern for Carol Kirkwood after Wimbledon mishap

BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood ‘hanging on for dear life’

BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay aired his concern for Carol Kirkwood , telling her “my heart is in my mouth” as he feared she suffer another mishap.

Jon’s admission came after Carol was pulled to the ground by a Wimbledon search dog on Tuesday’s programme.

He became fearful for his co-star when she appeared back on screen with the same dog, Wraith.

Sally Nugent began: “And if you were watching us yesterday or you went online at any point yesterday, you might have seen one particular incident that went viral.

“Let’s go straight to Carol who can tell us how she is and talk to us about the very naughty dog who is sat with her.”

Carol reassured: “I’m absolutely fine thank you, Sal, but you might remember Wraith who’s just having a little chill here.

“He’s come back to redeem himself and apologise for pulling me over yesterday, but it wasn’t really his fault.”

Jon chipped in: “He’s absolutely gorgeous today, Carol… behaving himself today.”

As they replayed a clip of Carol’s blunder, Sally asked what Wraith was chasing.

“It was a tennis ball, Sal,” Carol explained. “They love tennis balls search dogs and he saw one so he was off.

“He’s so famous now, he’s going to be on Japanese TV later on this morning. So he’s not doing any more appearances without contacting his agent.”

The BBC Breakfast presenter went on to present the latest weather forecast with Wraith sat calmly beside her.

However, afterwards, Jon couldn’t help but share his fears with Carol about Wraith pulling her over again.

Carol concluded: “We still are not immune to sunshine and showers or very cute dogs.”

“Very, very cute,” Sally replied. “We love Wraith a lot and so does everybody around the world.”

“My heart is in my mouth waiting for it to happen again,” Jon went on to admit.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
