BBC News hit by technical blunder AGAIN – forcing mortified host to apologise | The Sun
BBC NEWS has been hit by yet another technical blunder as a mortified host was forced to apologise.
The broadcaster was victim to another technical issue which threw the studio into darkness.
It happened during this morning's regional news bulletin on Look North, when the presenter opened the show as normal.
Dave Edwards told viewers: "Good morning from Look North, hope you're well, these are our main stories this morning."
But before he could read the headlines, the lights in the studio unexpectedly shut off.
It took the journalist by surprise, as he attempted to continue broadcasting.

He said: "Oh, we need to put a few coins in the meter I think."
Ever the professional, Dave continued with the bulletin despite viewers not being able to see him.
It's not the first time the lighting equipment has failed in the Look North studio.
Just last month Claire Frisby was forced to issue an apology as she too opened the programme in the dark.

The 56-year-old told telly watchers: "Hello good morning, we start with an apology.
"We've got a problem here in the studio with the lights.
"I hope that you can still hear me and we will still be able to run our report."
Meanwhile, just yesterday the BBC News channel was thrown into chaos as cameras accidentally cut to the presenter who had no idea she was still on air.
Anchor Lukwesa Burak had just finished her segment and the show was supposed to cut to a bagpiper but it awkwardly jumped back to her in the studio.
Lukwesa was grabbing a quick break between news pieces and thought she would grab the chance to have a sneaky stretch.
However, live TV is a fickle beast, and it unfortunately snapped back to her in the BBC offices while she was mid-bend, arms above her head.
Her face was a picture of horror as she realised what had happened and awkwardly attempted to style it out but could be seen nervously smiling as she kept her head down.
