BBC viewers CRASH dog rescue website in desperate rush to save abandoned pooches | The Sun

BBC correspondent Sarah revealed viewers had crashed a dog rescue website after a plea was put out to help the abandoned animals.

Sarah Rogers reported from Manchester’s Dogs 4 Rescue centre on Wednesday to help the dog rescue centre's plea to give many dogs a new home.

Thankfully BBC viewers were happy to help the packed shelter as minutes later the website crashed due to so many visitors.

The reporter, announced that Dogs 4 Rescue was now at capacity with 50 dogs looking for new homes.

Speaking to the viewers, Sarah said: “They need people to foster them, so much so they say they’re going to pay for absolutely everything.”

“Vet bills, food, just to help with that cost of living squeeze, because that is the reason many dogs are being trturned.”

Sarah then introduced Canine residents, Benjy and Stanley, and spoke to them the centre’s owner Emma Billington about the lack of homes for dogs.

Speaking to Sarah, the centre’s owner, Emma said: “It's depressing because we set it up to help, and we’re no longer able to help.

“I’ve been in this for nearly 20 years, and the UK crisis now in rescue all over is worse than we ever imagined.

“It’s bad enough with Covid but now, with the cost of living crisis, we’ve never known the number of dogs.

“Literally, the phone rings all the time, we’ve got automated emails going out.”

She then told the reporter, how desperate they are for help.

Emma tells viewers they can get in touch through Dogs 4 Rescue's Facebook page or by giving a call on the number she called out, or by visiting the official website.

“I can’t sleep at night,” Emma added. “We cannot help anymore. We’re at capacity, there’s nothing we can do until people start helping us.”
