Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard couldn't resist making a subtle dig at Kate Garraway after she repeated an exciting announcement.

The duo fronted Friday's (December 23) instalment of the hit morning programme and took viewers through the top headlines in the build up to Christmas Day.

Entertainment reporter Richard Arnold joined the pair in the studio in usual form, shared the latest celebrity news and also discussed GMB's 1 Million Minutes campaign which aims to stop loneliness.

The ITV star, 53, also mentioned that Good Morning Britain would be on air from 7am on Christmas Day with plenty of exciting guests involved.

Following Richard's fun-filled festive segment, Kate reminded viewers: "And we will be here as well, won't we? On Christmas Day!"

It was at that moment the Tipping Point presenter reminded his co-host that their Christmas Day stint had already been mentioned as he swiped: "Yep, as Richard just said."

Kate, 55, hit back: "Oh I know! I was just reemphasising, just to make sure that people turn up!"

The broadcaster revealed they will be joined by various different guests, including Strictly Come Dancing star Matt Goss and Corrie's Alan Halsall.

It will be the second year running for GMB as well as Lorraine and This Morning, with all three shows being broadcast on Christmas Day.

Unlike the usual 6am star, GMB will kick off one hour later on December 25 and will last for two-hours as opposed to three.

This will be followed by Lorraine at its standard start time of 9am and This Morning one hour later at 10am.

Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway will sit behind the GMB desk on Christmas Day, however not literally as the show has been pre-recorded.

Last Christmas, the ITV hosts came under fire from viewers who believed they were "pretending" to be live when they had been filmed weeks before.
