BGT audience member reveals ‘how Noodle the cat’s performance worked’

Britain’s Got Talent audience members and viewers at home were left speechless when a 'cat' called Noodle took to the stage and belted out an incredible rendition of Feeling Good.

Noodle first charmed hosts Ant & Dec and the judges on Saturday night, 29 April and the judges with its bubbly personality before enthralling everyone with its incredible voice, singing the song first made famous by Nina Simone, and more recently by Michael Bublé in 2005.

It received a resounding four yeses from the judging panel.

Although Noodle was created by CGI, the special effects were so successful it looked as though a real cat was performing on stage, and viewers have been wracking their brains to understand how it worked.

Fortunately, one audience member has let slip how Noodle the cat was able to perform. As reported by The Sun, the explained on YouTube: "I was in the audience for this audition. The cat was a screen projection. Clever how they put it on stage for the TV showing!"

"Thankyou!! This was driving me mad trying to confirm if it was CGI or robot/puppet or some new tech," one viewer responded.

"Thanks for shedding some light to this… I couldn't quite understand what was going on here. Lucky you being there!!" another said.

Viewers have also been trying to work out why they recognise Noodle's impressive voice, and some viewers think they've cracked it!

"Tom Fletcher from McFly/McBusted is the voice," speculated one viewer. "Plot twist: the cat is Marc Spellman," joked another, referring to the popular magician who reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent back in 2018 and received Ant & Dec's Golden Buzzer.

Another suggested it was Britain's Got Talent's former finalist Tom Ball. "That cat thing is 100% Tom Ball’s voice," they said.

Although the show gave no hints as to the identity of the mystery performer, some viewers asked why the performer would choose to hide themselves behind a CGI cat.

"Can I ask why the singing CGI cat just didn’t audition for #bgt as himself? Why feel the need to be an animated cat pls??" one asked.

But not everyone was quite so impressed, with some viewers likening the episode to quirky sci-fi series Black Mirror. "I swear I've seen this on Black Mirror before!" one viewer said. "#BGT is giving me Black Mirror vibes," agreed another.
