Simon Cowell has made a savage dig against rival TV show, Strictly Come Dancing as he bashes the BBC dance show.

As Simon and fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli welcomed the show’s first act of the night, United 2 Dance, they all clamoured to heap praise on the kids for their impressive performance.

But brutally hinest judge couldn’t help but take a swipe, telling them that they were much better than dance show Strictly, dubbing them “Strictly Better Dancing.”

He went on to say it was “nice to have people who can actually dance on talent shows.”

Fans took to social media to react to the shocking dig.

“Simon saying to those young kids that they are better than people who have been on Strictly. Yes maybe better than Ann Widdecombe and Jeremy Vine #BGT,” said one fan.

There are believed to be a total of 40 acts competing for a spot in the live final, including eight Golden Buzzer acts.

Each live semi-final this week will feature eight contestants, with only two acts from each show advancing to the live finale.

The first finalist will be determined by the public vote after all acts have performed, while the second finalist will be chosen by the judges.

Among the eight acts performing tonight, two of them have received golden buzzers, which was technically against the rules.

Bruno Tonioli pressed a second buzzer for singer Gamal John after his incredible performance, resulting in him being scolded for breaking the rules.

Then, inspiring dancer Musa Motha amazed the judges and the crowd during the final audition episode, earning him an additional buzzer.

Joining United 2 Dance on tonight’s bill was entertainer Ichikawa, who amazed the judges with his act involving farting into a tube, and illusionist Enzo Weyne.

Singer Amy Lou, musician Abi Carter-Simpson, and the freerunning trio Parkour Collective also add to the talented lineup.

“Strictly Better Dancing'? I guess Simon Cowell isn't an avid Strictly viewer then… #BGT,” penned a second.
