Big Brother host one of three household names battling it out for ITV job

Big names have been slated to host the ITV revival of fan-favourite reality show Big Brother.

Insiders have claimed that they include Capital Breakfast host Roman Kemp, Inbetweeners star Emily Atack, and Vick Hope of BBC Radio 1.

According to reports, they have been in the running for the job for several weeks.

A source told The Sun: “Emily and Vick have emerged as the favourites.

“A huge list was drawn up with a number of big-name stars on it, including Davina [McCall].

“However there is a feeling bringing in a fresh face would be good for the reboot.”

Talking about the three potential hosts, the source said: “Emily is already part of the ITV2 family with her work on Celebrity Juice.”

They called Vick a “great interviewer” and there is said to be the belief that she would draw in younger audiences due to her show on Radio 1.

Roman Kemp, who is the son of Spandau Ballet singer Martin Kemp, has also reportedly “made the shortlist”.

Rylan Clark is also a name that has been floating around, but the source said that, like Davina McColl, Clark has been on Big Brother before.

“If the production team and ITV decide they want a totally fresh start then he won’t make the cut.

“The final decision won’t be made for a few more weeks and talks with the stars on the shortlist are ongoing.”

TV host AJ Odudu, who hosted the programme's spin-off Bit on the Side in 2013, has also been in talks to host the next series.

An insider recently told the Daily Star: "AJ has had advanced talks with producers about the new series. The meetings have gone really well and it’s looking promising."

They said that AJ was “frontrunner” to host.

"Her past experience on the spin-off show makes her the perfect person to host the revival.

"She is keen to do it, so it’s all down to what ITV execs decide.”

Applications for the new series of Big Brother are now open and are set to close in the New Year, with the show back on screens in the spring.
