Big Brother star Lauren Harries rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery

TV star Lauren Harries, 45, has reportedly undergone emergency brain surgery.

The news was revealed on Friday, when her mother, Katy, posted a tweet on Twitter, asking for prayers and positive thoughts for her daughter's speedy recovery.

Katy wrote: "Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren @Laurenharries. Who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today."

Following the tweet, Lauren's fans were quick to express their support, sending messages of love and encouragement to the star, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013.

One fan wrote, "Send love and prayers to Lauren xxx," while others wished her a speedy recovery.

The tweet was also retweeted by Lauren's official Twitter page, which had been active just three days prior.

As of now, the cause of Lauren's surgery has not been disclosed.

Regardless of the cause, Lauren's fans remain hopeful for her full and speedy recovery.

Lauren has a famously close relationship with her mother, Katy, who has been supportive of her throughout her career.

Lauren first gained fame at the age of 12 as a precocious antiques expert named James, who appeared on Antiques Roadshow and Wogan.

Since then, she has built a successful career in television and even released a single, I Am A Woman, in 2015.

These days, Lauren sells artwork through her website, with pieces ranging from £20 to £150.

In addition to her career, Lauren is also known for her gender reassignment surgery, which she underwent in 2003.

At the time, the operation was considered risky, and there were concerns that Lauren could suffer a heart attack in her 30s. However, Lauren was determined to undergo the surgery and paid £20,000 to have it done.

Speaking to the Daily Star at the time, she said: “It is a big operation and when I had it done all those years ago it was more dangerous as they didn’t know enough about it.

“There was talk that if I had it done I would have a heart attack in my 30s as my body wouldn’t be able to deal with it.

“To me, it was like get me in the kitchen, get a vet, get whoever, let's get it done, in those days it cost me £20,000 but I think it was more then than it is now.”
